In 2019 Keller and Rogers commenced an auction in Hong Kong. The auction house consists of a rarity known as the ‘Four treasure of the Republic’- formally known as the Three Cent Blue Green Junk Stamp. The estimated bid for his rarity was around 31,850 dollars.
This stamp was issued in 1915 as the part of the first Peking Printing surcharged in red print around 1922 to create Two Cent on a three-cent stamp.
According to the auction house, it was an “a wonderfully fresh and nicely centered example which, while without gum, is absolutely sound, Very Fine, a splendid and desirable example of this great rarity …”. The value given for this rarity in the 2019 Scott Classic Specialized Catalogue of Stamps and Covers, 1840-1940 is $175,000, a figure printed in italics to identify the stamp as being difficult to value accurately.
