Karauli was a Princely State during the British rule in India. Today it is located in the north-western region of Rajputana. State Karauli established in the 11th century, but according to some ancient references it was also said to be a part of the MatsyaJanapadaury. The royal line of Karauliwas rule by the Jadon Rajput belonging to the same lineage as the royal house of Jaisalmer.
This gold mohur weighs around 10.82g, was issued by Kingman Pal from princely State Karauli. The obverse of this gold mohur is inscribed with the name and title of Queen Victoria and the reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name.
