Local savories on stamps
2020-07-15 Wed
This year USPS has introduced ten new stamps illustrating the still images of ten different fruits and vegetables. Each stamp depicts different savories like red and black plums, cheery tomatoes and heirlooms, ciders, berries, grapes like red and green, lettuces, eggplant and figs. The design of these stamps was decided by Derry Noyes using the 10 oil-canvas painting by the artist Robert Papp of Bucks County, Pa. To create this master-pieces artist Robert Papp used real fruits and veggies as models. After sketching his models he transferred drawing to canvas mounted on hardboard.
These oil paintings represent the growing agricultural impact on the United States economy. The people’s growing interest in organic food and the interest of growing it in their back garden. To know more about stamp Visit philamart to view and purchase variety of stamps from all over the world.
