Poland’s Europe 2020 stamp

Poland Post has joined the other European Postal Service has issued a special stamp to enter the Europa 202 philatelic competition. The issue is devoted to the Vistula river the longest and the largest river of Poland which served as the main postal roué of the country for many years.

Maciej Jedrysik designed this stamp, the Vistula is the main river in Poland. The importance of the virtual is justified by the large catchment area. Alongside the significant political and economic development of Poland in the 15th to 16th century the golden age and the tributaries connected to the royal city.

Royal and private merchants postal system of the letter carries and horse rides had been functioning since the Middle Ages, finally resulted in the establishment of the public postal service founded by King Sigismund II August in 1558.
