Observance of World Autism Day via Algerian Stamp

The United Nations has taken measures to create awareness about autistic spectrum disorders and Asperger syndrome. Therefore it is destined to observe on 2nd April of every month throughout the world.

Every year they decide one theme on which the following program of observance of Autism Day takes place. In 2012, they launched official UN awareness-raising stamps. The theme of 2013 was to celebrate the ability within the disability of autism. Inclusive education for autistic affected introduced in 2014.

In 2015, employment for autistic. The theme of 2016 was Autism and the 2030 Agenda: Inclusion and Neurodiversity. Later, in 2017 they came up with the theme of Autonomy and self-determination. In 2018, they propagated the theme of Empowering Women and Girls with Autism. In 2019, they came with an innovative theme of ‘Assertive Technologies, Active Participation’. The theme of the current year is ‘The Transition to Adulthood’.

Algeria issued a stamp on 2nd April 2016 which was designed by the artist who himself was suffering from Autism.
