Highlights of Electric Auction No. 18

On 21st June 2020, Todywalla conducted an Electronic Auction. It consists of some major specimens from Sultanate and Mughal coinage. The numismatic varieties from British India and Princely State were also in high demand.

The highlight of this auction was Kalima type square gold Mohur of Mughal Emperor Akbar, it weights around 10.8 g and was issued from the Patna Mint. The obverse of this coin depicts Persian inscription La ila ila Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah within the square border, with names of the four Khalifas in the margin.

The reverse of this coin depicts Jalal ud-Din Muhammad Akbar badshah Ghazi, Khalad Allah tali’ Malkah wa Saltanat with complete mint name zarb Patna at the bottom.

According to the auction house, this coin is in superb mint state and Very Rare. This coin is third of its type sold by the auction house this year. This beautiful masterpiece of numismatic fetched INR 4, 50,000.
