The Star-Spangled Banner is the national flag of the United States of America. It consists of 13 horizontal red strips alternated with white strips; These 13 strips represent thirteen British colonies that declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain and became the first states in the United States. The blue rectangle in the canton bears 50 small five-pointed white stars arranged in nine offsets horizontal rows, where rows of six stars (top and bottom) alternate with rows of five stars. The surcharges from the sale of this coin were used to fund a variety of organizations and were used in the project to benefit the public.
