Magyar Posta joined the other postal services to issues a special stamp to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the celebrated German composer Ludwig van Beethoven. The item shows a reproduction of part of a painting showing Beethoven while composing the Missa Solemnis. His background an extra of the score of a work by Beethoven can be seen. The stamp issued was designed by the Orsolya kara.

Beethoven was the most widely recognized and admired composer in the history of western music. He is a groundbreaking composer in all the senses. He enjoyed great success and recognition in his lifetime. Virtually all his major work is standard masterpieces.
