Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Johnson was born on 22nd December 1912 near Karnack, Texas; she was an American socialite, wife of 36th president of the United States of America; Lyndon B. Johnson and First Lady of the United States of America. She had also served her county as Second Lady of the United States of America.

Claudia Alta received a nickname ‘Lady Bird’ as she was a small child and kept it all the time. In the year 1934; she received art and Journalism degree from the University of Texas and also got married to Lyndon Baines Johnson.

When Lyndon B. Johnson became a member of House of Representatives and was also serving in WWII in the U.S Navy his wife Claudia Alta kept his congressional office open. She was the first presidential spouse to campaign for her husband separately, making her campaign appearances and speeches. When Lyndon B. Johnson was elected as the president of the United States of America; Claudia Alta kept a daily journal and also created the First Lady’s Committee for a More Beautiful Capital and then expanded her beautification program to include the entire nation. She was also very much active in her husband’s war-on-poverty program. She also participated in the Head Start project for preschool children and advocated for women seeking higher education. When President Lyndon B. Johnson left White House, she founded a center for National Wildflower Research and also continued her mission until her death in 2007 at the age of 94.
