Great vision of Universe celebrated by UK post

To celebrate the United Kingdom’s contribution to the understanding of the Universe, Royal Mail has issued an incredible ser of eight stamps in ‘Vision of the Universe’ series. The astronomical phenomena are beautifully captured ‘the drama of the universe’. The stamps are issued by the Royal Mail to mark the Royal Astronomical Society of the 200th anniversary.The image depicted on the stamp is cats Eye Nebula, Geysers on Enceladus, pulsars, Black Holes, Jupiter’s auroras, Gravitational lensing, comet, and Cygnus a galaxy. The illustrating is designed by London-based artist Robert Ball.
According to the executive director of Royal Astronomical society Philip Diamond, ‘These vivid and beautiful new stamps celebrate the UK’s contribution to our understanding of the Universe, from geysers erupting from one of the Saturn’s moon to extraordinary nature of the Blackhole’.
