William IIII 1835 Silver Rupee

This silver rupee was issued by East India Company in the year 1835 with the bust of Willam IIII. Rupee dated with the date 1835 was issued from September 1835 until November 1840. Later, the proclamation announced the restoration Act XVII.During 1835 the silver rupees were minted only from two mints Bombay and Calcutta, although some coin some coins from the Madras mint are also found with bears the date 1835. Both obverse and reverse on these coins were prepared at Calcutta. The initial on the truncation of the neck refers to the mint masters at Calcutta. Initial ‘RS’ refers to mint master ‘Robert Saunders’ and Initial ‘F’ refers to mint master ‘William Forbes’. Coins which bears initial ‘RS’ and ‘F’ on the neck of the bust are attributed to ‘Calcutta’. Coins with no initial on the neck of the bust are attributing to Bombay mint.
