Mary Todd Lincoln was the wife of Abraham Lincoln; the 16th President of the United States of America and as such the First Lady of the United States from 1861 to 1865.

Marry Todd belongs to the wealthy Kentucky family, After finishing her schooling she moved to Springfield, Illinois, where she lived with her married sister Elizabeth Edwards. Before getting married to Abraham Lincoln, Mary was courted by his long-time political opponent Stephen A. Douglas. After getting married to Abraham Lincoln she supported her husband Abraham Lincoln throughout his presidency.

The United States of America had issued this commemorative 10 Dollars coin with the theme of Mary Todd Lincoln in the year 2010. The obverse of this coin depicts the bust of Mary Todd Lincoln. The reverse of this coin depicts Mary Todd Lincoln bringing wounded Union soldiers flowers and books. She also brought them food and wrote letters to relatives on their behalf.
