A 10 million dollars worth stamp

Last year in New York, a record for a single-day auction dedicated to Philately, when a stamp of Bond billionaires Bill Gross’ collection sold for 10 million dollars.

This lot was offered by Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries Inc, it was the first in a series of sales of Mr. Gross stamp which will follow in the next two to three years. A handful of the specimen from the lot of 106 was sold. The top lot was a center-inverted block of four stamps from 1869 fetched 737,500 dollars. A blue Hawaiian missionary stamp from 1851 was the second highest bided stamp sold for $619,500. The bible black of six was sold for 590,000 dollars.

All the specimens were sold above their estimated price, this auction was a huge success for all the stamp lover and collectors.
