The Bengal Suhab is also known as Mughal Bengal; it was one of the subdivisions of the Mughal Empire during the medieval period in India. The Bengal includes modern Bangladesh the Indian state of West Bengal, between the 16th and 18th centuries. This region was established after the end of the Bengal Sultanate.During the medieval period, the Bengal Subah was one of the major trading regions of the world. It was also the wealthiest and one of the most industrial developed places in the world. During the Mughal period, it has been described as ‘Paradise of Nations’. The living standards and the wages of this region were highest in the world. The eastern part of Bengal was globally prominent in industries like textile manufacturing and shipbuilding. it also uses to export the product like silk, cotton, textile, steel, saltpeter, etc.
This silver square rupee was issued by Mughal Emperor Akbar from the mint Bangla in the Hijri year 1015; The date AH 1015 is a Posthumous date. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Sikka Bangala Ze Dilkhwah Shud, Kab Roshan Zarb Akbar Shah Shud (Meaning: The Coin of Bangla Became Pleasing from the Fact That Its Honour Lay in Being Struck by Akbar. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with Kalima.
