The axolotl is an endemic amphibian from the valley of Mexico that is currency surviving in 180 square kilometres of Xochimilco canals. The Banxico confirmed that the 20-peso bills will cease to circulate and will be replaced by coins of the same denomination with addition to the launch of new versions of the 50, 100, 200, 500.
