Mexico is a country in the southern portion of North America. Covering almost 2,000,000 square kilometres, Mexico is the fourth largest country in the Americas by total area and the 13th largest independent state in the world. Mexico is regarded as one of the cradles of civilisation. It was home to many advanced Mesoamerican civilizations such as the Olmec, Toltec, Teotihuacan, Zapotec, Maya, and Aztec before first contact with Europeans.

The Mexican Peso is the official currency of Mexico. The Mexican peso is the 10th most traded currency in the world, the third most traded currency from America (after the United States dollar and Canadian dollar), and the most traded currency from Latin America.

Today we are looking at a 10 Pesos banknote issued in the year 1913. The obverse depicts a man mounted on horse herding cattle. The reverse depicts the Old Mexican Coat of Arms - eagle holding a snake in its beak and a claw standing upon a cactus plant, which is situated in a lake.
