Fort Vancouver Centennial Half Dollar

Fort Vancouver was located on the northern bank of Columbia River in the present-day Vancouver, Washington. During the 19th Century, this fort used to be considered as a fur trading post that was headquarters of Hudson's Bay Company's Columbia Department. Fort Vancouver was a British fur trading post that was built in the year 1824 to optimize the Hudson’s Bay Company’s operations in the Oregon Country.The United States of America had issued this Commemorative half dollar in the year 1925 with the theme of Fort Vancouver. The United States of America had issued this commemorative half-dollar to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Fort Vancouver by the Hudson Bay Company, State of Washington. The obverse of this coin depicts the bust of Dr. John McLoughlin; the founder of Fort Vancouver facing towards left and the year 1825 and 1925 is written to the left and right side if the bust. The reverse side of the coin depicts the full-length figure of a frontiersman with the gun, the fort and a mountain peak in the background.
