Hawaiian Sesquicentennial Half Dollar

The United States of America had issued this commemorative half dollar with the theme of Hawaiian in the year 1928. The commemorative was issued to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the discovery of Hawaiian Island.The Hawaiian Island is an archipelago of eight major islands, several atolls numerous smaller islets and seamount in the North Pacific Ocean. This island is the largest island located in the state of Hawaii in the United States of America.
The obverse of this coin depicts the bust of James Cook facing towards left. The reverse of this coin depicts the chief of Hawaii with his hand extended in welcome. Behind him are a coconut tree and grass huts in the distance along the Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head.
