Daniel Boone was born into a large Quaker family on 2nd November 1734 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Boone did not have its formal education but learned to read and write. Most of the life of Daniel Boone spent as a wandering hunter and trapper.Daniel Boone is well known as the American pioneer, explorer, woodsman, and frontiersman. His frontier exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States of America. In the year 1755, he joined the British colonies and also served his team as General Edward Braddock's expedition. This was a time when the French and Indian War began as a border dispute over who got to claim land along the Ohio River.
The United States of America had issued this commemorative half dollar with the bust of Daniel Boone on the obverse side of the coin. The commemorative half dollar was issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Daniel Boone. The obverse of this commemorative coin depicts the bust of Daniel Boone facing towards left. The reverse of this commemorative coin depicts the frontiersman holding a chart of Kentucky and a rifle facing an American Indian holding a tomahawk. The background includes a blockhouse stockade and a sun half on the horizon.
