The world’s first pyramid shaped coin makes its debut in December 2007. The three-sided coin is very uniquely shaped. The Isle of Man is a self-governing island located in the Irish Sea between England, Scotland and Ireland. It’s a coin great for gifts and for collectors and it’s really designed to commemorative the return of Tutankhamun’s treasures. The celebrated 30 year return is in the ‘Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs’ exhibition at London’s O2 arena.
One side of the pyramid coin bears an image of Tutankhamun while the other has a portrait of Queen Elizabeth. The copper coin’s legal tender value is 25p and costs around 12.72 GBP. The coin in shaped triangular, has pointy edges and is decorated with hieroglyphs.
