The United States of America had issued this commemorative half dollar with the theme of Texas in the year 1934. This commemorative half dollar was issued by the United States of America to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Texas declaring its independence from Mexico. Texas is the second-largest state in the United States of America. The state shares its border with the states of Louisiana to the east, New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north and Gulf of Mexico to the southeast.The obverse of this coin depicts eagle superimposed on a large star, clasping an oak branch. The reverse of this coin depicts inscription ‘THE TEXAS INDEPENDENCE CENTENNIAL REMEMBER THE ALAMO 1836 1936’.
