Arkansas Centennial Half Dollar

This silver half dollar was issued by the United States of America with the theme of Arkansas in the year 1935. This commemorative half dollar was issued by the United States of America to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the admission of Arkansas into the Union. It was reissued annually through 1939.The obverse of the coin depicts of Liberty and a Native American in a headdress with the centennial dates ‘1836’ and ‘1936’. The inscription ‘ARKANSAS CENTENNIAL’ is written below and the inscription ‘LIBERTY’ is written on the cap.
The reverse of this coin depicts an eagle with wings spread, perched on the rising sun with rays emanating upwards. The geometrical shapes appear with the word “Arkansas” at center, amidst an arrangement of stars.
