Kuber Nath Rai, an avid writer, and scholar of Hindi literature and Sanskrit was born on 26th March 1933. He was honored the Moortidevi Award from Bharatiya Jnanpith and many awards from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Assam Government.Kuber Nath Ray was born in Matsa, Uttar Pradesh to Vakunth Narayan Rai. After completing his matriculation from Queen’s College, Varanasi, he got enrolled at Banaras Hindu University. He did his master’s in English Literature from Calcutta University.
Gandha Madan, Priya Neel-Kanti, Ras Aakhetak, Vishad Yog, Nishad Bansuri, Parna Mukut are some of his best collections of writing. India Postal Department has issued 500 Paise commemorative stamp to honor him in 2019.
