New York City will host a public auction organised by Cherrystone on Nov 12-13. This auction is offering a lot from the United States and worldwide stamps. It lot will offer at least 1,000 specimens for the sale next month. The highlight of this lot is going to be 1866 20k black, red-brown perforated 12 also known as the first Russian telegraph stamp.This lot described by the auction house as ‘unused with full original gum, hinge remnants well centred with intact perforation on all sides’. There are about 10 to 1866 20k black, red-brown recorded most plagued by small defects. The auction is offering this stamp for approx $20,000.
