Abu Ishaq Ibrahim II Ibn Ahmed also is known as Ibrahim II was the ninth Aghlabid Emir of Ifriqiya reigning from 875 to 902. Ibrahim was the son of the Aghlabid Amir Ahmad of Ifriqiya. His 27 years of reign saw a period of prosperity in Africa. Although Ibrahim II inherited a kingdom depopulated by the plague of 874, his reign was economically prosperous.
Among his public works, Ibrahim completed the Zaytuna mosque of Tunis, build a vast new water reservoir for the city, erected the walls of Sousse, and established a line of new naval signal towers along the Ifriqiyan coast.
On 23rd October 902, Ibrahim II died in a chapel near the siege camp of Cosenza due to dysentery. The above shown gold Dinar was issued during his reign.
