Todywalla auction had commenced an auction in Lucknow on 20th October 2019. This auction held some of the most fascinating coins from the Indian coinage. The most striking specimen of this lot is gold mohur of Queen Victoria issued in 1841.The coin depicts the bust of Victoria facing right with ‘Queen Victoria’ facing right with the date below it. The lion facing right with a palm tree with one mohur inscribe below and legend ‘East India Company’ within the toothed rim. This coin weights around 11.6 g with WW incused in the truncation.
This coin went for the whopping price of INR 1,40,000, it is one of the finest coins from this lot and will be a shining collectable for a collection.
