Mr. Krishnayya, who has been in the field of philately for over five decades, along with the India Post releases 60-page book at State-level philately exhibition in Karnataka. The “A” Kannada letter in this book has a picture of the postal stamp of King Vikaramaditya released in 2016 to indicate Arasa (king). The words “Aralimara” and “Anekattu” of the same alphabet on the page are indicated with pictures of the Peepal tree stamp, which was released in 1987, and the dam related to Sathya Sai Water Distribution Scheme in Andra Pradesh stamp, which was released in 1999.
This is part of the new 60-page Kannada alphabet book “Kannada Akshara Male” brought out by India Post on the second day of the four-day State-level Philately Exhibition here on Sunday. This book is based on the collection of stamps by Udupi-based senior philatelist M.K. Krishnayya.
The department replaced a few images of stamps for better visual effect. The last 10 pages of the book have information about stamps used for the alphabet.
The book is priced at Rs. 200. It will be available for sale during the exhibition.
Mr. Krishnayya has already created a similar collection of stamps on Hindi, English and Telugu alphabets.
