Gold Mohur of Taimur Shah Durrani Listed For INR 43,000

Taimur Shah Durrani was the second ruler of the Durrani Empire; he sat on the throne in the year 1772 CE and ruled it till 1739 CE.

Taimur Shah was born in the year 1784 and he got married to the daughter of Mughal Emperor Alamgir II and then quickly rose to the power. After getting married to the daughter of Alamgir II he received the city of Sirhind as a wedding gift and later he also made as to the governor of Punjab, Kashmir and the Sirhind district in the year 1757.

This gold mohur was issued by Taimur Shah during the 12th year of his reign. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of Taimur Shah. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with the mint name Ashraf-Al-Bilad Ahmed Shah. This gold mohur is listed for INR 43,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held in Lucknow on 20th October 2019.
