Postage stamps featuring scenes from Northern Velebit National Park of Croatia and Seoraksan National Park of South Korea were recently released by the Croatian Post in association with the Korea Post. Sheetlets containing nine stamps each and a First Day Cover have been issued. The Seoraksan stamp is designed by Jihyeong Ryu from Seoul, while the Northern Velebit stamp design is created by Duje Segvic. 1,50,000 stamps of each variety have been printed and each stamp carries a denomination of HRK 8.60.
The Seoraksan National Park is spread over an area of 398 km² and is world-famous for its breathtaking sceneries and thirty mountain peaks. The Northern Velebit National Park was set up in 1999 and is spread across an area of 109 km². Large territories of the park are under special protection. The park is known for its beautiful hiking trails and the Velebit Mountain lies exactly between inland and Mediterranean Croatia.
