A new postage stamp was recently released to celebrate 130 years of Bandra station in Mumbai. Bollywood star, Shah Rukh Khan was present at the event to release the stamp along with the Chief Post-Master General of Maharashtra HC Agrawal.
Bandra station was commissioned in 1864 and it became operational in 1869. The structure of platform number 1 was ready by 1888. It follows a Victorian architectural style and was declared as a heritage site by the government in 1995. The station was renovated for the first time in 2008 and again in 2018. It has become a popular tourist attraction in the city now.
