Department of Post issued a miniature sheet along with 16 commemorative postage stamps on the theme of Indian Hand Fan- The origin of Hand Fan can be traced back from Egypt- In India, the concept of Hand Fans was originated from the temples where it was used for deities, royal courts and households- Its traces are also found in Mahabharat- The sheet consists of Applique Hand Fan, Zardozi Hand Fan, Satin Ceiling Fan, Temple Hand Fan and Painted Hand Fan from Rajasthan, Mirror Work Hand Fan, Leather Hand Fan [Kutch], Embroidery Hand Fan and Beads Hand Fan from Gujarat, Phadh Hand Fan from Uttar Pradesh, Palm Leaf from Odisha, Feather Hand Fan from Delhi, Sola Pith Hand Fan and Palm Leaf Hand Fan from West Bengal, Date Palm Hand Fan from Sindh and Bamboo Hand Fan from Bihar-
