Austria post issued a special commemorative stamp to celebrate 500 years of the establishment of Postal Union.

Royal Mail also celebrates 500th year of its establishment. Austrian Post honours this historic event with a special stamp. This 68Schilling stamp features a postman from the 16th century who delivers a sealed letter.

Through this stamp, Post Austria memorializes the service provided by the Postal Department. The stamp gives an insight about how the mail was delivered before the Postal System was established.
