KhalifaSat Commemorative Stamp

Emirates Post issued a set of three commemorative postage stamps to celebrate KhalifaSat - the first Arab satellite that’s developed completely by engineers from UAE. Each stamp is denominated 3 AED. One stamp depicts the satellite getting launched from the earth’s surface, the second one shows an image of the man-made Palm Jumeirah Island from space and the third stamp shows the satellite revolving in space. Rays from the satellite fall on the Jumeira Island image.All three stamps are arranged on a sheet showing the earth’s surface below and outer space above. Each stamp features the country name in English and Arabic, denomination and year of issue. The sheet features the text “The first Arab satellite developed 100% by Emirati engineers in the UAE” along with its Arabic translation. Another text on the sheet reads Mohammad Bin Rashid Space Centre in English and Arabic. 90,000 stamps, FDCs and 4,000 Souvenir Sheets have been released.
KhalifaSat was developed and built at MBRSC to monitor changes in the environment and manage urban development from space. Emirates Post collaborated with MBRSC for this postal release.
