The United States of America had issued this commemorative quarter dollar with the theme of Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in the year 2019. Frank Church—River of No Return Wilderness Area was created in the year 1980 by United States Congress and was renamed in the year 1984. It is a protected wilderness area in Idaho.

The Frank Church—River of No Return Wilderness is located in six different national forests and it also has a relatively tiny portion of the land of the Bureau of Land Management which has more components than any other wilderness.

The reverse of this coin depicts a piloted drift boat on the rushing river encompassed by the trees and rock formations of the wilderness.
