Enhanced Fifty Rials Banknote of Oman Introduced

The Central Bank of Oman started circulating a new Fifty Rials Banknote with improved security features from 2nd June. The existing banknotes will continue to be legal tender and will be circulated along with the new banknotes.The obverse side of the new note features a Golden security patch window or Varifeye CC Patch featuring the denomination, Central Banks entrance and the Name of the Central Bank of Oman in both Arabic and English. The window’s colour changes from gold to blue when the note is held against a light source. A Golden Magnetic Windowed Security Thread, also called as RollingStar Security Thread has been introduced as well. The line appears to be moving and its colour changes from gold to green when the banknote is tilted. Spark Live Truspin shaped like a crown changes colour from gold to green when the banknote is tilted.
The reverse side of the note features a golden security patch window or Varifeye CC Patch on the left side which changes its colour from gold to blue when the note is held against a light source.
