Soon Alderney Post is going to issue six stamps to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the publication of John Keats’ lyric odes of 1819. Till date, this poem is seen as his greatest literary achievement. These six stamps introduced by the post devotes to poems ‘Ode to Grecian Urn’, ‘Oden on Indolence’, ‘Ode on Melancholy’, ‘Ode to a Nightingale’, etc. According to Bridget Yabsley, these stamps are symbolic and semi-abstract imagery to capture the overall mood and theme of the odes.
