AN Post of Ireland issued a set of four new postage stamps to honour the most popular musicians from the country. Each stamp features an image of a band along with a line from one of their famous songs. The Cranberries postage stamp features Dolores O’Riordan and her bandmates with the line “As well as Dream”. The stamp dedicated to U2 features the line “With or Without You”, the one celebrating Count John McCormack has the text “Danny Boy” and the Luke Kelly Stamp features the song name “On Raglan Road”.

Musicians like John Sheahan, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Glass House String Quartet, Declan O’Rourke, Wyvern Lingo, Jack O’Rourke, May Kay Geraghty and the Discovery Gospel Choir will be performing all the four songs in the GPO. An Post is organising this event while Other Voices will be curating the performances.

An Post officials believe that these stamps represent the beauty of Irish music and honour creative Irish musicians who have made their mark at a global level. They also hope that music lovers all over the world would be interested in these amazing stamps.
