Kuwait, an Arab country on the Persian (Arabian) Gulf, has cultural heritage dating back to antiquity. Kuwait City, the capital, is known for its modern architecture, ranging from skyscrapers to the striking Kuwait Towers, water towers whose design recalls the tiled domes of a classic mosque. The Tareq Rajab Museum houses a rich collection of ethnographic artefacts and Islamic art.Oil reserves were discovered in commercial quantities in 1938. From 1946 to 1982, the country underwent large-scale modernization. Kuwait has a high-income economy backed by the world's sixth largest oil reserves. According to the World Bank, the country has the fourth highest per capita income.
The Kuwaiti dinar is the currency of Kuwait. It is sub-divided into 1,000 fils. Six series of the Kuwaiti dinar banknote have been printed so far. Today we are discussing a ¼ (quarter) D0inar banknote issued in 1994. The note specifications are as follows:
The obverse depicts the Kuwaiti Emblem depicting a golden falcon (Hawk of Quraish) and a Boom sailing ship (dhow) along with the Kuwaiti wooden hope chest and Kuwaiti Dhow "Al-Mouhaleb". The reverse features girls playing traditional game.
