Inflation hit Venezuela to Issue Higher Denomination Notes

2016-04-08 Fri

Inflation has reduced the value of a 100 Bolivar bill to just 14 US cents. To tackle this economical issue, The Central Bank of Venezuela is planning to issue banknotes in higher denominations like 500 and possibly 1,000 Bolivars.

Inflation in this part of the world has hit an all time low of 150 percent due to which citizens have to carry wads of cash in bags instead of wallets.

Official economic statistics were not released post December last year, when inflation had reached 69 percent.
