Shah Mir Dynasty of Kashmir Sultanate

Shah Mir Dynasty was a Muslim Dynasty from an Indian Subcontinent; they were originally from Swat, who had ruled Kashmir for almost 222 years from 1339 CE to 1561 CE. The name of this dynasty is kept after its founder Shah Mir. It is believed that Shah Mir came to Kashmir during the rule of king Suhadeva. Later, after the death of Suhadeva and his brother Udayanadeva, Shah Mir controlled this kingdom and established Shah Mir Dynasty in the year 1339 CE which lasted till 1561 CE. During the rule of this dynasty Islam was firmly established in Kashmir.This Silver Square Sasnu which was issued by Ibrahim Shah I weigh around 6.15g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed with the name and title of king Ibrahim Shah I. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with mint name.
