On 4th April, the Republic of San Marino will be releasing new noncirculating €5 commemorative coin that celebrates the latest wireless cell phone technology – 5G. San Marino is the oldest extant sovereign state and also the first country in Europe with a 5G network. Gruppo TIM and TIM San Marino have come together to offer this amazing wireless service in the country.

Designed by artist Valerio De Seta, the reverse side of the coin features the 5G and TIM San Marino logos. The country name, year date and denomination are also featured on this side. The obverse side of the coin is designed by Antonella Napolione and features the coat of arms of San Marino.

The 9.3 grams coin is struck on an aluminium-bronze alloy called bronzital and has a diameter measuring 26.95 millimetres. It has a mintage limit of 15,000 pieces and each coin coins in a capsule for their face value.
