Missouri is one of the states in the United States of America; it is situated in the Midwestern region of United States America. Missouri is the 18th most populous state in the United States of America. State Missouri plays a leading role as a gateway to the west because as a major departure point for expeditions and settlers heading to the West during the 19th century. The United States of America had issued a commemorative quarter with the theme of state Missouri in the year 2003. This commemorative quarter dollar is the fourth coin released in the year 2003 and overall it is 24th coin release in 50 state quarters Program. The reverse of this coin depicts Lewis and Clark's historic return to St. Louis down the Missouri River, with the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Gateway Arch in the background.
