Mythical characters have appeared on coins for several years. Every English Monarch used beasts to symbolize their dynasty. Beasts such as the Tudor dragon were created to celebrate the marriage of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour. They were placed in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace. One of the Queen’s Beasts is a dragon. Dragons have been a part of several mythical stories, books and movies. The most popular and oldest one is probably the story of St. George and the Dragon.
