Virginia, officially known as Commonwealth of Virginia, is a state situated in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic region of United States. This state is situated in between the Atlantic Coast and the Appalachian Mountains. The nicknamed of this state is ‘Old Dominion; they got this name for their loyalty to the exiled Charles II of England during the Puritan Commonwealth and Protectorate (1653–59).

The United States of America had issued this quarter dollar on 16th October 2000. This quarter dollar is fifth quarter dollar release in the year 2000 and overall it is 10th coin issued in 50 State Quarter Program. The reverse of this coin depicts an image of three ships that brought English settlers to Jamestown.
