Spink London April Auction to Showcase Bruce Smart’s Collection of Rare Notes
2016-03-30 Wed
The extraordinary catalogue of Bruce Smart is separate from Spink’s main world paper sale that will commence on April 12th and continue for the following two days.It is an amazing collection of top grade and rare Middle Eastern and North African bank notes, mostly in original condition.
The star note worth £25,000-30,000 is a 25-Riyal c.1966, P-4 and the rarest one in the series. This rarity is enhanced by it being graded a PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
Next up is a 50-Riyal, P-5 note carrying an estimate of £20,000-25,000 which comes with an even higher grade: PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. In this condition, it probably matches the 25 riyals in rarity.
There are many other rare banknotes of Qatar, Egypt, Palestine, Afghanistan, and many other countries which are up for sale at the auction.
