Junagadh Gold Kori Sold For INR 5,00,000

Junagadh was a Princely State during British rule in India; it is situated in the western states of Gujarat. It was ruled by Muslim Babi or Babai dynasty. The Founder of this dynasty was Muhammad Sher Khan Babi.During the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar this state Junagadh became a Mughal dependency. Later; when Mughal Empire started collapsing Babis got involved in a conflict with Gaekwad dynasty of Maratha Confederacy over the control of Gujarat.
This gold Kori issued by which was issued by Rasul Muhammad Khan from the Princely State Junagadh is sold for INR 5,00,000 in an auction of Todywalla held in Ahmadabad on 9th February 2019. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Nawab Rasul Mohammad Khan Bahadur in Persian, ‘Shri Diwan’ in Devanagari below within dotted border. The reverse of this coin is inscribed with both AH and VS date, with Scimitar and Mint name within dotted border.
