Special Olympics World Games Silver Dollar

This silver one dollar was issued by the United States of America on 2nd May; 1995. The United States of America had issued this commemorative coin with the theme of Special Olympic World Games and to recognize the achievements of participants.The Special Olympics World Games are international sporting competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities. The goal is to show the talent and skills of people with intellectual disabilities.
According to Public Law of United States 103-328; it is specified that surcharges shall be used by the Special Olympics World Games Organizing Committee.
1. This law provides a world-class sporting event for Special Olympics athletes.
2. People with intellectual disability get a chance to demonstrate their talent, dedication, and courage of Special Olympics athletes to a global audience.
The obverse of this coin depicts the portrait of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the founder of the Special Olympics. The reverse of the coin depicts the Special Olympics Medal, a rose, and a quote from Mrs. Shriver.
