Nanded is a city situated in the Indian states of Maharashtra, it is a seventh-ninth most popular city of Indian and second largest city in Marathwada subdivision. Nanded is the center of governance of Nanded district.
The city of Nanded is a holy site for Sikh, it is a major destination for Sikh pilgrims as this a place Sri Guru Gobind Singhji, the 10th guru of Sikhs made his permanent abode and passed his guruship to the Guru Granth Sahib before his death in 1708.
During the mid 18th century, Nanded was also a part of Nizam of Hyderabad. The surrounding area was contested heavily between him and the Marathas and Nizam of Hyderabad.
This extremely rare silver rupee which weighs around 11.5g was issued by Nizam of Hyderabad from the mint Nanded. Mint name Nanded is clearly visible on the coin. This silver rupee is listed for INR 3,00,000 in the upcoming auction of Oswal Auction House which will be held in Ahmadabad on 8th February 2019.
