The United States of America had issued this One-Dollar West Point Commemorative Coin in the year 2002.The United States Military Academy (USMA) is also known as Army West Point or simply ‘The Point, it is a four-year federal service academy in West Point, New York.
On 16th March 1802, President Thomas Jefferson had signed a new Congress Bill which authorized the establishment of a military academy to be located at West Point in the States New York. Later; in the year 2002, Bicentennial foundation of United States Military Academy was observed at West Point and at other designated places throughout the world.
The United States of America had issued this Commemorative coin to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the foundation of United States Military Academy and to honour its contribution to the Nation and the people of the world.
