Second Sand Dollar II by Coin Invest Trust

Coin Invest Trust released a special One ounce Silver .999 coin with silk finish for Palau featuring the skeleton of a sand dollar on its concave reverse. The coin has a diameter of 50 millimetres and a mintage limit of 2,019 pieces. They will be struck at B. H. Mayer’s Kunstprageanstalt in Munich. The convex obverse side features the coat of arms of Palau, Name of Country, text “Sand Dollar”, denomination and year of issue.

CIT had released the first Sand Dollar in 2017. The coin actually has a skeleton of a sea urchin. However, when these sea urchins are exposed to sunlight for a long time, they start shining like old Spanish or American silver dollars. These second sand dollar coin, to be released in 2019 is technologically more advanced. The obverse features a delicate design and the surfaces have a silk finish. The uneven rim is thinner towards the edge and the coin has five oval cut-outs.
